A market research firm expects the scented candle market to keep growing, and the wax inside the jar is changing. It expects sales to grow about 4.5% a year to 2036. It also says makers are moving towards new wax blends. Here is what that means when you are choosing scented candle wax for your own home.
Scented Candle Wax Is Changing, Says the Trade
The forecast comes from Future Market Insights, in a release from February 2026. It values the world market at about USD 4.1 billion in 2026, rising to USD 6.4 billion by 2036. That is a guess about the future, not a fact. Nobody knows yet if it will hold. It is also a global figure, and the release does not mention Australia.
The release also says makers are moving from paraffin to soy, coconut and beeswax blends. A blend simply means two or more waxes mixed in one candle. For you, the point is simple. More choice is coming, and more labels will make claims.
Does a different wax make a better candle?
Not on its own. Scent oil load, wick and jar size matter just as much. Our Sand Dunes candle is a paraffin and soy blend. It is a 220g jar with lemon and amber, and the listing says 40 hours of burn time.
Jar Candles Lead the Forecast
The same release says jar candles are the leading format. It credits their longer burn times, scent throw and safety. Scent throw is how far the smell travels across a room.
That fits what a good jar does. The glass holds the melted wax and the flame stays contained. A bigger jar with more wicks can give a stronger scent in a bigger room, because more wax melts at once. Our 3-wick jars do that job well.
When you read any candle label, check these things:
- It names the wax, not just "natural".
- It gives a burn time.
- The scent is described in plain words.
- Any big claim points to a source.
What to Take From a Forecast
A forecast tells you where money is moving. It does not tell you what suits your living room. We do not claim that any one wax is healthier or better. Pick the scent you enjoy first. If you like crisp, clean scents, the Fresh range is a good place to start.
Quick answers
Is soy wax better than paraffin?
Neither is better in every way. They feel and burn a little differently, and each has fans. Choose by scent, burn time and how the candle performs in your room.
What is a wax blend?
A wax blend mixes two or more waxes, such as paraffin and soy. Makers do this to get a certain feel, burn or scent strength from the finished candle.
