The Australiana Collection started with an inspiration to create a collection of unique fragrances that represent our great land featuring our iconic Australian Food, world celebrated Wines, Idyllic sun filled Beaches and heritage listed Bush.
To artistically provide a sense of connection to the land through a visual narrative, for all packaging, Glow Collection commissioned Indigenous artist Tyronne Hoerler, a proud Wangkumara man, who was then given a detailed brief to artistically interpret and link landmark locations across Australia with the 15 unique fragrances of the Australiana Collection.
When Tyronne was asked about his experience in painting this stunning artwork, he commented, “I’ve never researched a painting so much before starting as I needed to link 15 stories into one. It was challenging but so much fun to do. To start, I painted the canvas all black. From there, I imagined a map of Australia in front of me and painted from bottom left to represent the Margaret River then up to Perth then across to the middle of Australia to the Nullabor. Then a bit to the right of the middle Adelaide Hills and the Barossa. Then started to paint to the bottom right of the canvas to capture the Yarra Valley, after that up the right hand side to Bondi Beach, The Blue Mountains of Sydney and the Hunter Valley. As I painted up the right hand side of the painting, I painted to capture Byron Bay, Northern NSW, then on to Toowoomba, Noosa and Moreton Bay. On to the top right of the canvas I then painted to include the Daintree and the Whitsundays. To finish, I then captured the beauty of the outback of Arnhem Land in the top middle of the painting.”
The result:A stunning Indigenous dot painting that reflects the vibrant and multi coloured tones of the land, earth and the sea of our great land. The green colours represent the bush, blue’s the beach, yellow’s and beige the desert.
When Tyronne finished he took a step back and said, “I then took a step back after I finished and the name hit me… ‘Our Australia’. I was so happy with this as this name brings together the places, the food, the wine, the beach, the bush but more importantly, it artistically represents our diverse nation of all our people from all cultures and origins - all living as one in ‘Our Australia’.”
